GEICO Claim Denied (or offered a ridiculously low amount)?
Has GEICO denied your claim or offered you a very low payment? You are not alone. Many people have complained about GEICO. See their complaint information here.
All denials and low payment offers from GEICO can be reviewed by the California Department of Insurance.
Insurance policies are based on trust. The insured trusts the insurance company to do the right thing and to compensate people who the insured injures. If and when an insurance company breaches its duty of trust, we take action.
If GEICO denies the claims of their own policyholders we can sue GEICO for breach of contract and in some cases the breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing (this is known as a "bad faith" lawsuit)
If you are a GEICO insured your insurance contract with GEICO usually has a "suit limitations" clause that limits the time to bring a claim against them...so please act promptly.
If you a a third party (not a GEICO insured) you still have rights under the law. There are Fair Claims Practices Regulations that control how GEICO should treat your claim. Learn your rights.
GEICO has lots of claims adjusters and insurance lawyers. Do you have an insurance lawyer?
Call our office today and learn whether or not you have a case.
Notice
As of October 2015, we are seeing bodily injury settlement offers from GEICO that are very low. In some cases GEICO is offering just $1,500 for pain and suffering damages for people who have suffered pain, discomfort for 4-6 months after an accident. These low offers have resulted in an increased pursuit of litigation against GEICO via lawsuits against GEICO insureds.
